About us

Marat Omarov - Founder

Marat is the founder of The ARK. He possesses extensive experience in managing large-scale events and projects, with a notable highlight being his role in organizing Expo 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan.

As the Director of Content and Event Organization, Marat's leadership and visionary approach significantly contributed to shaping the exposition's narrative and delivering an unforgettable experience for visitors. From coordinating conferences and workshops to overseeing cultural performances and live demonstrations, Marat's team successfully brought the diverse elements of the EXPO to life.

Marat's unwavering focus on education, innovation, and regeneration played a pivotal role in the EXPO's success, earning him a distinguished reputation as a key figure in Kazakhstan's cultural and event landscape. He was awarded a medal for “Outstanding Labor” by the President of Kazakhstan.

Creating a project that combines the regeneration of nature with the goal of bringing people together to grow as a collective is a dream come true for him.

Santiago Palomar - Regeneration & Permaculture

Santiago has dedicated the last 14 years of his life to learning about regenerative design, with a special focus on community projects and food production.

His greatest passion is education; during this time, he has facilitated more than a hundred workshops on permaculture and regenerative living.

Additionally, Santiago has managed three learning centers in Mexico and created numerous gardens, ponds, agroforestry systems, and permaculture designs for a diverse range of people.

Adrian Vega - Operations & Property Management

Adrian brings over a decade of experience in Business and Finance, having worked with large multinational companies.

Continuing his professional growth in hospitality, Adrian collaborated on various projects, including Luxury Rental Properties, Hostels, Permaculture/Yoga Retreat Centers, and Boutique Hotels.

His involvement consistently resulted in the highest overall hotel review score on the southern Nicoya peninsula.

Adrian holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and a Master’s degree in International Commerce Management with a focus on Sustainability.

Josefina Schroeder - Finances

Josefina brings a solid background in finance, having successfully navigated diverse financial landscapes.

From managing budgets to implementing strategic financial planning, she is dedicated to optimizing the overall company performance.

With a deep understanding of market trends and a commitment to compliance, she ensures that our financial strategies align seamlessly with the overall goals of The ARK.

Juan Pablo Almiron - Finances

Juan Pablo is supporting The ARK with his broad experience in finance and accounting, having worked on many large-scale projects throughout his career, collaborating with companies in Central and South America.

His journey in the financial landscape has seen him navigate complex financial structures and spearhead strategic financial initiatives.

Raquel Moya - Lawyer

Raquel Moya has been with The ARK since the early stages of the project, ensuring that all legalities are covered.

She is the founding partner of Legal She, a boutique law firm that offers full-service legal counseling in all aspects of corporate and real estate transactions.

The firm is composed of experienced lawyers licensed to practice in Costa Rica and the United States.

Alex Bravo & Catalina Vargas - Architecture

Alex Bravo and Catalina Vargas are part of our architecture and construction team.

They are the directors of estudio B, an independent consulting office established in 2013. They offer a full-service design firm that has developed a strong niche working across every aspect of today's built environment, ranging from small-scale architecture to residential/commercial planning and territorial development, mainly in the areas of Santa Teresa, Playa Malpais, Ojochal, and some other coastal territories.
